Position summary
To prepare statutory accounts for designated clients, as well as ad-hoc reporting and assisting the tax administrator with tax returns in an efficient effective and timely manner and to meet accounts and tax filing/submission deadlines within internal and regulatory requirements.
Specific Duties
- To prepare statutory and non-statutory financial reporting in a timely manner and in accordance with internal, client and regulatory requirements and deadlines.
- To assist tax colleagues with the preparation of Guernsey and UK tax returns and VAT returns.
- Provide support and guidance in all aspects of client record keeping and financial reporting.
- Manage own time effectively, focus on chargeable time and record effectively and accurately.
- Assist other staff matters with any accounting matters or queries as and when required.
- Understand and be pro-active in relation to client acceptance procedures and the associated risk involved.
- Be involved in the preparation of, and attendance at client meetings and follow up on action points as required.
- Work on agreed training requirements and performance goals to ensure on-going development and take responsibility for continuing self-development.
The candidate will ideally have:
- A recognised accounting qualification or be working towards a relevant qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA, CAT or AAT
- A proven academic record.

- The adaptability to work on various different accounting systems, specifically Xero and Acumen.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to use Microsoft Office, particularly excel.
- Good team skills and be flexible to change based on the needs of the business.
- The capability to work in a deadline/volume driven environment whilst maintaining accuracy and focus.
- The ability to prioritise work and focus on the most urgent and important task.
